New region S7024 [N23E62] rotated spotless into view on August 7. A tiny patch of negative polarity flux and a spot emerged the next day within the leading positive polarity area. This caused the region to become a little unstable and a C1.3 flare that began late in the day peaked at 00:04 UT on August 9
