Long Jupiter -72 area 0
New region 12859 [N19E73] rotated into view on August 20 and was numbered the next day by SWPC. The region was quiet and decayed slowly during the first half of the day, then displayed signs of slow growth again late in the day.N19E60 Data 2021-08-22
Long Jupiter -58 area 80
Region 12859 [N19E60] produced 3 C1 flares (at 00:52, 04:14 and 10:20 UT). The classification of the region is still uncertain as there may be a small negative polarity spot at the northwestern edge of the main penumbra.N18E47 Data 2021-08-23
Long Jupiter -44 area 160
Region 12859 [N18E47] decayed slowly and quietly. The region has weak polarity intermixing.N18E33 Data 2021-08-24
Long Jupiter -30 area 150
Region 12859 [N18E33] decayed slowly. The region has weak polarity intermixing. The region produced a C1.5 flare at 14:49 UT. A B8.8 flare peaking at 12:16 triggered a filament eruption, which was associated with an EIT wave and a CME.N18E19 Data 2021-08-25
Long Jupiter -15 area 70
Region 12859 [N18E19] decayed slowly and was mostly quiet. 70N18E08 Data 2021-08-26
Long Jupiter -4 area 90
Region 12859 [N18E08] developed as new flux emerged. The region produced a C3 flare at 18:18 UT which triggered a filament eruption. An EIT wave covering a large part of the visible disk was observed afterwards. A faint full halo CME could be seen in LASCO imagery. Further C class flares are possible.N18W06 Data 2021-08-27
